GOOD ADVICE

Francie, age almost-five, works hard to make sure we do things right. We made a lot of mistakes before she arrived, and it's up to her to straighten us out, now that she's here.

Today, on the way home in the car, I found out what I've done wrong vehicularly.

"Mommy, why don't we ever get a pickup truck? We should have a pickup truck! I WANT A PICKUP TRUCK!"

Pause.

"Mommy, why does all those people have garages by their doors on their houses, and we don't have a garage? Why did you buy our house with no garage by the door? We should have a garage!"

And the final advice, on color:

"Mommy, why did you buy this car GRAY? Gray is for BOYS! All the colors of the rainbow is for WOMANS!"
