WELL, THIS IS A BIT UNNERVING . . .

Francie's preschool class published a "newspaper," with one article per kid. No, the kids can't write yet, but the teacher took the kids aside, one at a time, and interviewed them for their articles. Here's Francie's. It's titled, MY WEEKEND:

"Francie went with her daddy to play golf. She hit the ball over to the other hole. Francie takes ballet. She dances there. She goes two times a week. Her dance teacher's name is Miss Amy, but it is a different Miss Amy from school. Francie went to her Grandma's house, Grandma Nancy. They watched a movie, "My Little Pony." Francie went to the store with her mom. She went to McDonald's with her daddy, Lillie, Amelia, and Tillie."

Okay. Here's the unnerving part. Francie has never been golfing. She does not take ballet lessons. There is no "Miss Amy" ballet teacher.

The rest of it is accurate, so it wasn't totally made up.

What gets me is the detail of the made-up parts. Dance lessons two times a week?

Francie has a rich fantasy life.

UPDATE:

I asked Francie why she said those things when the teacher asked her what to put in her newspaper article. Francie started laughing--just laughed and laughed. In between giggles, she managed to get out, "I saw it in my brain."
