THE PERFECT CHILD

Okay, so she's not really perfect. When tired, she has been known to haul off and whack or kick her younger sister. She also gets her own way by insisting that Francie do "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to determine who gets to be first, although Francie always always loses. (I don't know why--do they always do the same routine, or do they have some kind of ESP thing going where Lillie is mentally dominating Francie so Francie always puts out the wrong symbol?)

But she has some interesting quirks, things that none of the other kids has ever done.

She asks to listen to the news instead of music on the car radio.

When Grandma Nancy takes the little girls to the grocery store with Great-Grandma Mary and each of them gets a treat, Lillie asks for--get this--a carton of milk as her treat. I appreciate that one. Bringing home real food instead of candy, so I have one less carton of milk to buy--way to go.

When they were making noise in the car today, Fred told them to stop fighting. Lillie sighed and said, "Daddy, this is not fighting. This is arguing."

Maybe I should have titled this "Our little lawyer."
